Jacobs Jr., her father, was an investment banker. Lebanon. She has French German Irish and Scottish roots. Her family's Jackson Koehler Eagle Brewery was established within Erie Pennsylvania in 1847 by her family. John Martin Magenau Jr., the President as well as Chief Executive Officer, of this brewery from its establishment in Erie Pennsylvania in 1847 until 1978. Jacobs first began acting lessons when she was 8 years old and continued to attend the classes on Saturdays at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. Mt. Jacobs quit Lebanon High School and moved to New York City in the year 2000. There she joined the Drama Division of Group 33. Jacobs graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2004.
